Actuation Division
Brushless servo motor technology from Exlar® provides high torque and a small package size. Available in 60 to 180 mm frame sizes with 1, 2, or 3 stack lengths in 8 pole configuration, these compact motors pack a powerful punch.
Standard configurations include:
The innovative T-LAM™ segmented lamination stator design increases power without increasing size. Each segment contains individual phase wiring for maximum motor performance. Robust insulation, high coercive strength magnets, and complete thermal potting are integrated to create a more powerful and efficient motor. The design yields 35 to 70% more torque from the same size package. Also, T-LAM designs feature Class 180H insulation and UL recognition.
Brushless servo motors are effective in harsh and demanding applications, such as:
If you know which component you would like to order, you can get in touch with Curtiss Wright Actuation with your details, and a member of our team will call you to discuss your specific application requirements to better assist.

Your choice of drive will dictate the appropriate feedback device for your situation. Options for feedback type include an array of absolute, analog and incremental encoders, as well as custom feedback alternatives.
Motor Stator options are described with a 3-digit code. The first digit calls out the stack length, the second digit designates the rated bus voltage, and the third digit identifies the number of poles. Please refer to the mechanical/electrical specifications for motor torque and actuator rated force.

* Low voltage stators may be limited to less than catalog rated torque and/or speed. Please contact your local sales representative when ordering this option.
All Exlar T-LAM™ motors and actuators have a standard motor speed designator (described below). The designator represents the standard base speed of the motor for the selected bus voltage.
Please note that Exlar can manufacture its T-LAM products with specialized base speeds to exactly match your application requirements. This capability allows you to get the required torque and optimal speed for your application, while using the minimum amount of current from your amplifier.
The callout for a special speed is configured in the model number by using a two-digit code from 01 through 99. These codes represent the number, in hundreds, of rpm that is the base speed for the motor.
For example, a SLG090-010-KCGS-AB1-138-40 motor has a 4000 rpm standard winding. To specify a 3300 rpm winding, change the last two digits in the model number from 40 to 33. Similarly, to specify a 5000 rpm winding, you would change the last two digits from 40 to 50, and so on.
Note: It is not possible to produce every possible speed for each motor at each voltage. *
